2026 pizza beans trend reference

Adapted from a recipe shared on TikTok / Social Media.

Ingredients

Pizza Beans

  • 1 tbsp Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 15-oz cans Cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce, a well-seasoned sauce you like on pizza
  • 1/2 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes, optional (optional)

Topping

  • 1 1/2 cups Low-moisture mozzarella, shredded
  • 2 oz Pepperoni, sliced (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Fresh basil, torn, for finishing (optional)

Instructions

Position a rack about 6 inches from the broiler and heat the broiler. Heat the olive oil in a 10- to 12-inch oven-safe skillet over medium heat.

Add the garlic and cook just until fragrant, about 30 seconds; do not brown it.

0 min

Add the drained beans, marinara, oregano, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir gently and simmer until hot and slightly thickened, 6 to 8 minutes.

7 min

Taste the sauce and season only if needed; marinara, cheese, and pepperoni can already contribute substantial salt.

Scatter the mozzarella evenly over the beans and arrange the pepperoni on top if using.

Broil until the cheese is melted, bubbling, and browned in spots, 2 to 4 minutes. Watch closely.

3 min

Rest 3 minutes, finish with basil if using, and serve as-is or with toasted crusty bread.

Chef's Notes & Storage

NEEDS_IMAGE_REVIEW RECIPE IDENTITY Pizza beans as a bean-and-tomato dish predates 2026. This recipe represents the specific 2026 viral social-media format: creamy white beans, pizza sauce or marinara, melted mozzarella, and familiar pizza toppings in a fast skillet meal. Do not describe the dish itself as invented in 2026. CHEF'S NOTES Cannellini beans work especially well because they stay creamy inside without collapsing into the sauce. Great Northern beans are a good substitute. For a vegetarian version, omit the pepperoni and add sliced mushrooms, roasted peppers, or olives. Keep variations in the notes rather than loading the canonical recipe with every possible pizza topping. STORAGE Refrigerate leftovers in a covered container for up to 4 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or a covered skillet; broil briefly if you want to refresh the cheese. ALLERGENS Contains milk. Check marinara and pepperoni labels for individual allergen needs. NUTRITION NOTE Nutrition is an estimate and varies with marinara, cheese, and toppings.
