2026 rice paper mochi trend reference

Adapted from a recipe shared on TikTok / Instagram / YouTube.

Ingredients

Filling

  • 1 cup Thick vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 3/4 cup Fresh strawberries, diced small and patted dry

Wrappers

  • 6 wrappers Round rice paper wrappers, about 8 inches each

Finish

  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch or tapioca starch, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

Stir the diced strawberries into the thick Greek yogurt. If the berries are very juicy, pat them dry first so the filling stays thick.

Line a tray with parchment. Fill a shallow dish with cool water.

Dip one rice paper wrapper in the water just until flexible, about 5 to 8 seconds. It will continue softening after it leaves the water.

Lay the wrapper on a clean board. Spoon about 1/3 cup filling into the center, fold the sides inward, then roll or gather the wrapper into a compact parcel.

Repeat with the remaining wrappers. Dust very lightly with cornstarch or tapioca starch if the surfaces are sticky.

Chill or freeze until the filling is firm and the wrapper has a pleasantly chewy bite, about 45 to 60 minutes.

60 min

Let stand 5 minutes before eating if frozen very firm. Serve the same day for the best wrapper texture.

Chef's Notes & Storage

NEEDS_IMAGE_REVIEW RECIPE IDENTITY Despite the viral name, these are not traditional Japanese mochi or daifuku. Traditional mochi uses glutinous rice. This 2026 social-media shortcut uses hydrated rice paper to create a chewy wrapper around yogurt and fruit, so Supper.recipes labels them 'mochi-style' rather than presenting them as authentic mochi. CHEF'S NOTES Do not soak the rice paper until floppy; overhydrated wrappers tear and turn gummy. Thick yogurt and dry fruit are important. Mango, blueberry, or raspberry can replace the strawberries in later variations. STORAGE Best the day they are made. Refrigerate up to 24 hours, or freeze briefly and let soften before serving. Long freezing can make the rice paper tough. ALLERGENS Contains milk. Rice paper is often gluten-free, but verify the package if needed. NUTRITION NOTE Nutrition is estimated using vanilla Greek yogurt and strawberries.
