Ingredients

Tea

  • 2 bags Green tea bags
  • 2 cups Water

Cooler

  • 1 Ripe peach, pitted and chopped
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tbsp Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup Ice

Garnish

  • as needed Fresh peach slices (optional)

Instructions

Heat 2 cups water to approximately 175°F.

Add the green tea bags and steep approximately 3 minutes.

Remove the tea bags without squeezing them.

While the tea is still warm, stir in 1 tablespoon honey until dissolved.

Allow the tea to cool, then refrigerate until cold.

Place the chopped peach in a blender and blend until smooth.

For a smoother drink, press the peach puree through a fine-mesh strainer. For a more textured drink, leave it unstrained.

Combine the cold green tea, peach puree, and fresh lemon juice.

Stir or shake thoroughly.

Taste before adding additional honey. A very ripe peach may provide enough sweetness.

Divide ice between two glasses.

Pour the peach green tea over the ice.

Garnish with fresh peach slices if desired.

Chef's Notes & Storage

NEEDS_IMAGE_REVIEW Naturally caffeinated with green tea. Caffeine content varies by tea and brewing method. Use a genuinely ripe, fragrant peach for this recipe. An underripe peach will contribute very little flavor. The lemon should brighten the peach rather than turn the drink into lemonade. Green tea brewing standard: Heat water to approximately 175°F. Steep for approximately 3 minutes. Remove tea bags without squeezing. Allow tea to cool before assembling the iced beverage. If the tea manufacturer's instructions differ substantially, follow the package directions.
