Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground turkey, preferably around 93% lean
  • 1 cup Crumbled feta
  • 2 clove Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 3 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil, for cooking
  • 3 cup Plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 whole English cucumber, grated and squeezed dry
  • 1 clove Garlic clove, finely grated
  • 1 tbsp Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Fresh dill, chopped for tzatziki
  • pinch Kosher salt for tzatziki
  • 4 whole Burger buns
  • 1 whole Tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 whole English cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 whole Red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cup Arugula or shredded romaine, optional (optional)

Instructions

Make the tzatziki first. Combine Greek yogurt, squeezed cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, dill and salt. Refrigerate until serving.

Add ground turkey, feta, garlic, parsley, dill, oregano, salt and black pepper to a bowl. Mix gently until just combined.

Divide into four equal portions. Shape into patties slightly wider than the buns. Make a shallow indentation in the center of each patty.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add patties. Cook approximately 5-7 minutes on the first side.

Flip and continue cooking until browned and the center reaches 165°F. Remove burgers and rest approximately 3 minutes.

Toast buns lightly if desired. Spread tzatziki over the buns. Add turkey burger.

Top with tomato, cucumber, red onion and optional greens. Serve immediately.

Chef's Notes & Storage

Use approximately 93% lean turkey rather than extremely lean turkey breast for a noticeably juicier burger. Feta contributes both moisture and savory flavor. Do not press down on the patties while cooking. Food safety: Cook ground turkey to an internal temperature of 165°F.
