Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb Ground beef
  • 2 tbsp Taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 6 bags Individual corn chips or tortilla chip bags
  • 1 1/2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups Shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup Salsa
  • 1 Tomato, diced
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream

Instructions

Heat a skillet over medium camp stove or campfire heat. Add ground beef. Cook while breaking into small pieces until browned. Ground beef must reach 160°F.

Drain excess grease if necessary. Add taco seasoning and water. Stir thoroughly.

Simmer approximately 3–4 minutes until the liquid reduces.

Prepare toppings while the beef cooks.

Gently crush each unopened bag of chips once or twice with your hands to create bite-size pieces without turning them into crumbs.

Carefully open the bags across the top.

Spoon hot seasoned beef directly over the chips. Add shredded cheese.

Add lettuce, salsa, tomato, and sour cream. Add optional toppings as desired.

Serve immediately with forks.
